Step by step to building sandcastles the Port 'A' way. |
This is a picture of the tools I use when playing on the beach.

During a lesson I show you how to use just a shovel and a plastic ware knife to carve a tower, a wall and, an arch.
Shovels come in many sizes. I prefer a waist high shovel when hanging out at the beach. I also use a plastic rake for cleaning the area around my castle when finished. The 5 gallon paint buckets can be used for carrying water, mixing sand and water or, for carrying out trash you may find on the beach.
Sprayer bottles for wetting sand before carving details when the sand drys. Now lets take a closer look in the next pictures. |
feather dusters are for cleaning loose sand and smoothing areas. Rubber tubing for blowing loose sand away from carved areas. Paint brushes for smoothing carving marks on walls.
Plasticware for carving and digging. Pastry knives for carving. Specialty tools from Sandcastle Central. Various picks for detail work. |
